The Rotary Club of Maraval continues to support other Clubs in the Rotary family through attendance at their events and meetings. As such under this year's theme by RI President Mark Maloney, we have begun the " Rotary Maraval Connect to the World" series which will highlight our members as they attend other Club events and fellowship in fine style.
This month we continue our feature on the following stories:
RC San Fernando's Joint Meeting - Estate Planning

President Marcia, Secretary Giselle and Rtn Ann-Marie journeyed to the Royal Hotel, San Fernando on Thursday 22nd August to attend the Rotary Club of San Fernando's meeting with guest speaker AG Debbie Roopchand who spoke on Estate Planning. This topic resonated well with all those present as AG Debbie very succinctly detailed the difference between intestate and testate and the possible outcomes that one's family and benefactors can face if the proper legal documents are not put in place or proper processes followed. President Jacqueline of the Rotary Club of San Fernando expressed her heartfelt thanks for Maraval's support.
Rotary Club of Princes Town's Chokha Fest Fundraiser

The Rotary Club of Princes Town hosted its annual ChokhaFest on Saturday 24th August on San Fernando Hill for 26 years. As has become customary, the event boasted over 10 different varieties of Chokha proving that you can indeed 'chokha' anything! The evening was well spent and two representatives from the Rotary Club of Maraval , President Marcia and Secretary Giselle, shared in the great food and entertainment. All proceeds from this fundraiser goes to the provision of scholarships to deserving students in the area who are unable to financially afford their tertiary education. Our Club was very glad to be able to support this initiative.
Rotary Club of San Fernando South's Membership Cocktail
Two new members were inducted by the Rotary Club of San Fernando on Tuesday 27th August at Doc's Ranch inline with the Rotary theme for the month of August - New Club and Membership. All were enlightened by the insightful words of Mr. Anthony Watkins who spoke on the different personalities and strengths needed within an organization to allow for it to work well and excel. President Marcia, Secretary Giselle and Secretary-Elect Adanna benefited from this perspective and stayed back for some fellowship with President Kennedy and his members.
RC POS' President James hosts an Independence Night Fellowship Event

Fellow Presidents from the Rotary Clubs of Piarco, San Fernando South and Central POS were also in attendance. AG Gordon Paul and PAG Lawrence Wilson were also there to share in the festivities.
Pennant exchange with the Rotary Club of Metro City New York
Secretary Giselle, during her quick stay in New York City, exchanged pennants with the Rotary Club of Metro City New York 's President Valissa Mayers on our Independence Day, 31st August, 2019. President Valissa is a past Rotaractor of the Rotaract Club Port of Spain West and migrated to the USA over 5 years ago.
