The Rotary Club of Maraval was chartered on May 4th 1993 as an all-female Club in Rotary District 7030 which covers the southern Caribbean and other countries: St Kitts and Nevis in the north and Guyana, Suriname and French Guiana in the couth. We have also joined with the ABC islands expanding our reach to Aruba, Bonaire and Curacao.
We are one club of 22 here in Trinidad and Tobago, one of a wider 73 clubs in our Rotary District and one of hundreds of thousands in the world.
Rotary is an international service organization that comprises volunteers who are mainly professionals in the community who leverage off of their talents, connections and resources to help to improve the way in which those in need live, learn and grow by executing and facilitating projects with the specific focus of:
- Peace and conflict prevention/resolution
- Disease prevention and treatment
- Water and sanitation
- Maternal and child health
- Basic education and literacy
- Economic and community development
- Sustainability and Environmental Stewardship
Rotary Club of Maraval has exactly this same focus here in Trinidad and Tobago with one cause being very dear to us i.e. Basic Education and Literacy in the areas of Maraval, Port of Spain and Rampanalgas.
